WARNING to the people. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received October 24, 8.25 p.m. New York, Oct. 23. Weeks (Secretary for War) asked the people to awake to prevent silly pacifists undermining, by insidious propaganda, the ability of the country to protect itself.

He declared the United ’States has a smaller force employed in its arsenals than at any time during the last twenty years. He pointed out that thousands of lives and billions of dollars were lost unnecessarily through the unpreparedness of the L T nited States in 1917.
