VERY UNSETTLED.
ITALY’S DIFFICULT PROBLEM. PREMIER MAY RESIGN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received October 17, 11.15 p.m. London, Oct. 17. The Daily Telegraph’s Rome correspondent states the political situation is very unsettled. Signor Facta (the Premier) is expected to resign immediately in order to induce the leaders of the other parties to make common cause against the Fascist!. Some Ministers accuse Signor Facta of giving too much liberty to the Fascist!. while other Ministers urged they should be allowed full liberty. Signor Facta is wearied by Cabinet dissensions. The only solution seems to be the return of Signor Giolitti, though efforts are being made to induce Signor Orlando or Signor Salandra to resume the Premiership. The Fascisti are continually indulging in fresh pranks. They have taken possession of several town halls at Friuli and put the Socialist Mayors and councillors to flight. Similarly, they forced the Mayors of Pavia and Vicema to resign. The Ministry of Justice seems unable to make up its mind to arrest Mussolini, who is the real Fascisti leader. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
