By Telegraph.—Press Asm.—Copyright. Received Oct. 15, 11.35 p.m. New York, Oct. 14. At Mount Clemens, Michigan, Lieutenant R. L. Maughan, piloting an army Curtiss high speed pursuit ’plane, won the Pulitzer special trophy, travelling 160 miles at *207 miles per hour. This is a new speed record. Lieutenant Maitland, piloting a sister 'plane, was second. He also established a world’s record, travelling 50 kilometres at 216 1-10 miles per hour.

The hundred and two hundred kilometres records were aLso broken by various flyers.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
