CROP OF MISHAPS.
ACCIDENTS IN AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Numerous accidents occurred in the city yesterday. William John MacDermott, secretary of the Auckland Alliance, received serious injuries through being knocked down by a tram. It is stated MaeDermott was proceeding along Queen Street when the wind lifted his hat across the street. He ran out to recover it, not noticing a tramcar, and he ran right into it. MacDermott sustained severe injuries to the head and is still unconscious. A. McMath, a married man. aged 42, was knocked down by a tram in Queen Street. He sustained a fractured skull. Thomas McFadden, aged 45, was knocked down by a motor in the city and slightly injured. Charles Guthrie, who was driving a tram, collided with a motor ’bus, and sustained severe cuts.
