MEAT TRADE.
CHANGES SUGGESTED. BETTER DISTRIBUTION. MARKET FOR PORK. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Oct. 7, 5.5 p.m. London, Oct. 6. Mr. Jessep, vice-chairman of the New Zealand Meat Produce Board, has returned to London from Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool and Manchester, where he conferred with the civic and port authorities, and also with business men in quest of direct shipments. , Mr. Jessep, interviewed, said he was most impressed with the necessity to use the ports as distributing centres, because the expense, delay and deterioration of meat and fruit, arising from distribution from London, has become most serious. He expressed the opinion that there was a good opportunity for developing the export of frozen pork from New Zealand.—Reuter Service.
