DAIRY PRODUCE.

HIGH LEVEL OF EXCELLENCE MORE ADVERTISING URGED. (By Wire. —Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Oct. 7. Speaking in the Bouse on Fridaynight, Mr. S. G. Smith (Taranaki) said he hoped that the splendid exhibits made by the department at agricultural shows would be maintained as they enabled farmers to see what could be done by proper attention to flocks and herds. The money was well spent. He noticed that last year £4OO was voted for the promotion of the sale of New Zealand produce in outside markets, but only £9O had been spent. This was a preposterous state of affairs. The quality of New Zealand produce had reached a level of excellence unequalled in the world, but the paltry sum of £9O was all the Government devoted to advertising the fact with a view to extending the markets.
