LABOR DISPUTE.
SYDNEY COAL TROUBLE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received October 2, 11.25 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 2. The secretary of the Southern Colliery Proprietors* Association states that no reply has been received from the men in connection with the owners’ demand for a guarantee that the men will work full time. Consequently the mines will be closed on Tuesday. Sydney, Oct. 2. The miners in the northern fields have agreed to withdraw the darg for one week pending the hearing of the dispute by the Coal Tribunal ministers. The miners are convening a conference with southern miners and owners to consider the question of electric safety lamps for miners.
