Received Sept. 28, 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 27. The quantities at the wool sales opening on October 10 total 148,000 bales, of which "free” amounts to 32,500 Australian and 43,500 New Zealand. NEWTON KING, LTD., REPORT. At Inglewood on the 20th. n full yarding of stores came forward. Weaners wore in weak demand, but all other classes sold readily and at firm rates. There was also a steady enquiry for dairy cattle close to profit, and vendors in imost cases were able to effect satisfactory sales. Aged and poor conditioned store cows 20s to 23s 6d. fresh-conditioned cows 36s to 455, prime fat cows £6. two-year-old steers 575, three-year-old steers £3 14s, empty two-year-old heifers £2 Ils to £4 7s Gd, yearling heifers 30s to £2 12s 6d. choice Holstein heifers £2 17s fid. Jersey heifers £5 15s, dairy cows £7 10s to £l2, springing heifers £6 15s to £9. extra choice Jersey heifers *£l6.. At Rahotu on the 21st inst.. a moderate yarding was fully cleared under good .competition. Both store and dairy cattle mede good values. A choice line of yearling Holstein heifers evoked keen interest, realising £3 16s. yearling steers 255. yearling heifers 33s Gd to £3 ss, Jersey heifers £5 12s 6d. fat cows £4 15s, light fat cows £3 Ils to £3 10s, store cows 29s to £2, yearling Jersey bull £4. springing heifers £6 15s to £7 10s. Jersey heifers £ll ss, dairy cows £7 15s to £lO 10s. At Urenui on September 18, there was an improved demand for all classes, the market strengthening accordingly. Dairy cattle especially sold much better. Fat cows £4 5s to £G 19s, fresh-conditioned cows £2 Is to £2 17s Gd, yearling steers 16s to 19s, two-vear-old steers £2 15s, three-year-old steers £?. 14s Gd. yearling heifers £2 14s, Jersey heifers £4 2s 6d, empty twentv-month heifers £2 12s Gd to £3 15s, best Jersey springing heifers £ll 10s to £l4, medium classes £7 10s to £9, springing cows £6 to £lO, choice cows £lO 10s to £l2 19s. At Stratford on the 19th inst. a moderate yarding of stores was cleared at late rates. In the dairy pens a big entry was submitted and a good sale effected. Prices were considerably better than at previous sales, although the yarding on the whole lacked quality. Fat ewes 28s, store cows 35s to £2 ss, forward cows £2 18s Gd, fat cows £4 5s to £4 17s fid, yearling heifers 36s to £2 Ils, better quality heifers £3 5s to £4 10s, Jersey heifers £5 7s 6d to £6, empty heifers £2 12s Gd to £3 13s Gd, dairy cows £7 to £9 ss, springing heifers £6 to £9, better classes £lO 5s to £l2.
