COURSING.

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. YESTERDAY’S COURSES. From a coursing point of view the meeting of the New Plymouth Coursing Club at Glenavon yesterday was very successful. The attendance, however, was not large, but probably to-day, when the final of the Taranaki Cup and the semi-final and final of the Limit Stakes are to be run, there will be a greater number of patrons of the sport present. All the officials worked well, the slipper, Mr. F. Doughty, getting his dogs away in good ci’der, while Mr. J. Feaver, as judge, gave his decisions quickly and to the satisfaction of competing owners. There were eight competitors for the Cup; and the final will be contested by Mr. F. Barriball's bk b Sweet Memory and Mr. R. Childs’ bl b Molly’s Own. Both dogs coursed in good style yesterday, and the meeting to,day should provide an interesting course. Mr. F. Sampson’s Viola Lass will meet Mr. C. Wheeler’s Humorist, and Mr. G. Willis’ Lady Cadet will meet Mr. A. Aitken’s Grasshopper in the semi-finals of the Limit Stakes, both of which courses should be keenly contested. In addition a Supplementary Stakes will be run.
