PICTURE FILM ABLAZE. AUDIENCE LEAVE QUIETLY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Westport, Sept. 9. While pictures were in progress at the Grand Theatre this afternoon, a film in the operating-room caught fire, resulting in the destruction of the machine, switchboard, and other gear, valued at about £4OO, exclusive of the film. The audience, which was mostly children, escaped quietly. No great damage was done to the hall. The insurance on the hall was £2OO, but there was no insurance on the machine and plant, owned by Mr. Wilde.
