Meetings of coal miners in every State in Australia discussed whether they should give fourteen days’ notice to strike as a protest against the proposed reduction in wages. A number of meetings in New South Wales unanimously decided tc ask the consent of the federation to give notice if their grievances are not adjusted. It i<s estimated that through stop-work meetings in New South Wales the miners lost £30,000 in wages.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
