LOWER WAGES RESENTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 7, 11.30 p.m. Sydney, September 7. Meetings of coal miners in every State in Australia discussed whether they should give fourteen days’ notice to strike as a protest against the proposed reduction in wages. A number of meetings in New South Wales unanimously decided tc ask the consent of the federation to give notice if their grievances are not adjusted. It i<s estimated that through stop-work meetings in New South Wales the miners lost £30,000 in wages.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
