CHILDREN AT SCHOOL.

BOARD ALLOWANCE QUESTION. (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. In a question addressed to the Minister of Education, Mr. R. Masters suggested that as district high schools were being disestablished and technical high schools were being established in their place, the Government should make the same boarding allowance to children attending the latter type of school as to children attending the former. The Minister replied that the cost would be so great that the Government could not reasonably be expected to meet it at the present time, but so soon as educational finance improves, the suggestion will receive consideration.
