TRAM STRIKES TRAP,

LOCAL RESIDENT INJURED A collision between a tram and a trap on the Henui bridge lost evening resulted in injuries being sustained by Mr. C. O. Hawke, of Egmont Street, New Plymouth. At about 6.45 Mr. Hawke was driving in his four-wheeler towards Fitzroy, and after crossing the Henui bridge, was re-crossing the tram lines to regain his correct side of the road, when he was by an out-ward-bound tram., being thrown from the trap and rendered unconscious. Dr. Milroy was sent for, and arrived a few minutes later to find the injured man just regaining consciousness and rather badly cut about the head. The injuries were not serious, however, and after being attended to Mr. Hawke was able to proceed to his home.
