The Americans thus gained a first leg in the Walker trophy by’ winning eight of twelve matches. KIRKWOOD IN AMERICA Received Aug. 30, 5.5 p.m. New York, August 29. In a match at Lowell, Massachussetts, Kirkwood and Hagen defeated Ellis and Newton 2 up and 1.
