TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Taranaki Boxing Associa tion was held on Tuesday. There were pres ent: Messrs. E. Jackson (chairman), C. Grain ger, W. Graham. G. Jago. R. Paul, N. Howell W. Richards, W. N. Stephenson, W. Yardley M. Stagpoole, A. Baker, and C. H. Wynyar< (secretary). The secretary reported that the articles fo: the professional contest had been returnee duly signed. also that all the amateur bout: were finally fixed, so some stirring contest: should be witnessed. The lads are in hare training, and are all anxious to win the cov | eteel gold medals. Charlie Cann, who has just arrived bacl after his recent success at Westport, expecti to reach New Plymouth with his trainer. Ton Souter, on Thursday evening. .Terry Whittome leaves Auckland with his trainer, Mr. Donovan by the Rarawa on Thursday afternoon. H< has had for his sparring partners Cadman Pooler, Keenan, anel Paul Hannah, in additloi to members of the amateur team for Australia. and never was in better coneiition. Patrons who roll up at the Coronation Hall or Saturday evening should be delighted with the bill of fare provided. The arrangements for staging the contest arc well forward, and will be the same a; for the last tournament. Ample seating accommodation is provided, and a good view if obtained from all parts of the house! Members who have not yet paid their subscriptior are advised to remit at once, when tickets foi admission will be forwarded.
