PROHIBITION REJECTED
THE DECISION OF SWEDEN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Copenhagen, Aug. 28. Provisional figures of the Swedish plebiscite are: For prohibition 772,747, against 846,536. The latest returns seem to indicate that the prohibitionists have lost the day. Among the principal centres. Stockholm polled: For prohibition 21.906, against 138.300; Gothenberg, for 19,603, against 51,487. Received Aug. 29. 5.5 p.m. Stockholm. August 28. The latest returns are: For prohibition, 859.000; against, 953,000. The polling is far larger than at any general election.
