The deathbed confession of a cinema actor named Cavallaro has cleared a mvstery surrounding the murder of an old merchant in Turin and a second murder of an elderly woman two months later. With a fallow actor named Pietro, Cavallaro had been engaged in the prodnetion of films, hut losing their positions they became penniless. They then decided to give a realistic turn to the schemes in which they acted, and therefore murdered and robbed their victims of three hundred thousand lire. Cavallaro admitted that but for his illness he would have killed others. Pietro was arrested, and reproached his betrayer, who suddenlv collapsed and died. They are both Cicilians.
