EXPORT OF PRODUCE.

LONifibN CONTROL WANTED. AN AUSTRALIAN’S EXPERIENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Aug. 22, 8.10 p.m. Sydney, Aug. 22. Speaking at the Farmers’ Cnference, Mr. Tretowan, a member of the Legislative Council, who recently visited London in connection' with the marketing of primary products, surged the need of having someone in London thoroughly conversant with the business, who could decide fearlessly, without having to refer to Australia. He mentioned that while in London he was able to make £40,000 to £50,000 for the wb.eat pool because he was able to put through sales at the right time. He contended Australia was not receiving an adequate return for the outlay of £1,000,000 spent on Australia House and several thousands spent yearly upon the High Commissioner and his staff. The business side of the Australian representation was not sufficiently looked after.
