Lord Northcliffe’s estate is unofficially estimated at £4,000,000, including more than half of the company owning the Daily Mail, Evening News, and Weekly Dispatch, almost the entire shares of The Times, and a big block of the shares of a company issuing numerous weekly and monthly periodicals. The payment of death duties will absorb 40 per cent, pf the estate, and will necessitate the realisation of much of the assets.
