FALL INTO HARBOR.
STEAMER’S FIREMAN DROWNED. Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. Three firemen on the steamer Mahana fell over the wharf into the harbor on Saturday evening. One clambered up on to the cross beams of the wharf uninjured, another named Harvey had ar ankle badly crushed between the ship and a fender, a.nd the third, named Samuel Knowles, aged. 24, a native of Leedsi and a married man with two children was drowned. Dragging operations wen carried out this afternoon, but the bodj was not recovered.
