Ing contest, Jamito secured a points decision over Larry Jones, of the United States. Melbourne, August 20. Ring defeated Uren on points, in a 20-rounds contest for the middle-weight title. NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. By Telegraph -Press Association. Christchurch, August 18. At a meeting of the New Zealand Boxing Council to-night, the appeal of Brian McCleary in regard to the decision in his contest with P. McQuarrle was considered. It was decided that on consideration of all the circumstances as submitted, the council resolves that the McCleary-McQuarrle contest be declared void. It was further resolved that the purse be equally divided. Mr. E. A. Dawson was appointed manager of the team for the Australasian championships. An appeal was lodged by B. Facoory against his suspension by the Wanganui Boxing Association, and it was decided to ask the Wanganui Association to supply the council with the evidence on which it based its decision.
