PERJURY ALLEGED.
HOTEL-KEEPER CHARGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Masterton, Last NightOn a charge of perjury John Thomson, of Taueru, licensee of a local hotel, was to-day committed for trial at the Masterton sittings of the Supreme Court in September. This is a sequel to a conviction recorded against Thomson on April 28 for supplying liquor to William Hulme on Sunday. March 26. Accused has sworn in evidence that Hulme was not at his hotel on that date, and that the beer he sold him was taken away on the Saturday. The case for the police is based on alleged facts that Hulme was not at the Taueru Hotel on Saturday, March 25. and that he was there and paid for drinks on the Sunday. Accused pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. Bail was allowed in one surety of £l5O and, self in £l5O.
