National troops captured Tralee, Ballylongford and Tarbert, and are now advancing on lastowel. NATIONALISTS’ SUCCESSES. London, August 4. A fierce fight took place when a large number of Irregulars surrounded and attacked an outpost of the Limerick City Brigade. Some Nationalists were taken prisoner, but the majority escaped. Subsequently a detachment of Nationals engaged the Irregulars, rescued five prisoners, killed four rebels, and wounded ten.

An official bulletin says: Strong forces of Irregulars surrounded Brvree. Their main objective was the headquarters of the Dublin Guards, on which they poured Lewis gun fire, but the building was unoccupied at the time. The Nationals from adjacent buildings responded, killed five Irregulars and wounded twenty. The Irregulars decamped. The Nationals have captured Carrick-on-Suir, an important rebel stronghold. Three hundred Irregulars fled. The Free Staters took the famous Rock of Cashel, Tipperary. The rebels fled when they saw fihe Nationals approaching. De Valera was at Cashel on Tuesday and issued orders that a stand should be made to the last man, after which he proceeded to Clogheen.
