A MIDNIGHT STRIKE.
ORGANISED BY ITALIAN LABOR. Ry Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rome. August 1. The Labor Alliance, organised to protect the proletariat against Fasciism, has called immediately a general strike all over the country’, including railwaymen. The general strike took place at midnight. The papers did not appear, and the railways were partially affected. Tramways and other public services have stopped. The post officer, banks and business places are open. The Government has taken complete police and military measures to preserve order. Troops arc concentrated at danger spots. In the meantime the Fascist! have mobilised and declare that, unless the etrike ends within 48 hours, they will toro» co establish order.
