EVERYBODY’S. LAST NIGHT OF “THE SIGN ON THE DOOR.” The bare announcement that Norma Talinadge will be the star of the screen offering at Everybody’s to-night is enough to satisfy everyone that entertainment of exceptional merit is pending. This splendid production in which the charming and incomparable Norma will be seen is “Thfei Sign on the Door,” a Channing Pollock play which has lately been seen in New Zealand as a stage production. It is a new screen triumph, for MisB Talmadge, who rises, to great drarftatic heights in a powerful, moving story, with a strong undercurrent of romance. Norma’has the role of Ann Hunniwell, a beautiful young stenographer, whose marriage to a man of wealth and excellent character, is followed by a tragic chain of events, which culminate in an unexpected happy cli? inax. The final screening is announced for to-night. To-morrow 11. B .Warner will star in a romantic photoplay, “When We Were 21.” THE PEOPLE’S. TOM MX IN “THE ROUGH DIAMOND.” Tom Mix, the brilliant William Fox star, appears to-night at the People’s in his latest production, “the Rough Diamond.” This is the photoplay in which Mix essays an entirely new role in a different type of story than is usually given him, and in this role—combining delightful comedy, romantic adventure and thrilling feats, lie has an undoubted triumph. The atmosphere of the story is unusually varied and colorful, ranging from an American city to ( the capital of a tropical republic, with .ships, a circus in full blast and a royal wedding adding flavor to the whole. To the host of Mix admirers throughout the world it reveals him as a new genius. The supporting films include a two-reel Sunshine comedy. “Holding the Line.” cartoon, and topical.
