Advice was received that nt the annual meeting of the Central Division it had been decided to disband, the different school districts to bo merged in the northern and southern divisions. Under this arrangement the following schools will be attached to the Northern Division, viz.: Tariki. Norfolk, Dudley. Inglewood. Raimata, nnd Tarata. The proposal was agreed to. and it was decided -to-immediately notify the schools of the calfrearing competition so that those children desirous of taking part can do so this year. On the question of points to be awarded for yield, cultivation, quality and record chart, in connection with the coming season’s carrot and mangold-growing competitions, it was generally agreed that the points allotted for yield were too high, while the great importance of record chart and of cultivation were specially stressed. It was Anally decided that the points be as follows: Weight 1 point per ton, cultivation 40 points, quality 10 points, record chart 50 points. Last year the points were: Weigiit 2 points per ton. cultivation 20, quality 10. record chart 40. It was also decided that the Southern Division be notified of the alteration and its tion asked for to ensure uniformity. Attention was directed to the fact that some competitors in the root-growing competition were using a portion of pig or calf paddocks. It. was felt that such competitors had an undue advantage, and in order to equalise matters It was decided that the use of fawnyard manure, in addition to the artificial manures supplied, be allowed, particulars of its use to be recorded on the chart. The Agricultural Department is to be notified that the executive does not recommend any change in the variety of carrot, but that Matchless White be grown, and also that Prizewinner mangolds were favored for the mangold competition. The Taranaki Agricultural Society was thanked for a donation, rind it was decided! to ask the society to include in the schedule of its next stock show four classes for calves reared under the club scheme, viz., one class each for Jersey, Ayrshire,. Friesian and Shorthorn. The executive further decided to ask Mr. Buckeridge to forward an impression of the registered calf brand used In the Southern and also to forward prize money and •certificates. Messrs. Washer, Grant, and the secretary were appointed a committee to arrange for entertaining club members on the occasion of the forthcoming prize-giving.
