AN UNUSUAL DEATH.

PIECE OF BONE IN THROAT. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Christchurch. Last Night. How a piece of mutton bone stuck in the throat led to death by setting up gangrene, followed by septic pneumonia, was revealed at an inquest held concerning the death of Anthony Benjamin Page, single, aged 72, who was found dead at his residence at Sydenham. In returning a verdict in accordance witih the medical evidence, the coroner (Mr. Wyvern Wilson. S.M.) said deceased had consulted a doctor, who had failed to locate the hone, and it was a pity he had not had his throat X-rayed. Apparently there was nothing else to cause death except the mutton, bone, which had caused gangrene and septic pneumonia. Death was accelerated by starvation.
