HUATOKI DOMAIN.

MEETING OF THE BOARD. A meeting of the Huatoki Domain Board was held on Thursday night. Those present, were: Messrs. W. Rumball (chairman), W. E. Bendall, J. H. Frethey, and G. Lawrence. It was reported that boundary fences had been erected and a good deal of scrub and undergrowth cleared. Native trees had been planted on the clearings and the plantations fenced off. It- was decided to apply to the Lands Department asking for the exchange of a strip of land on the Vogeltown side of the Huatoki for a patch of native bush on the western side. It . was stated that if this exchange was effected the domain would be linked up with the scenic reserve. The chairman,- Mr. W. Rumball, who is leaving the district, tendered his resignation as a member of the ooard, which was accepted with regret. It was resolved to recommend to the Minister of Lands the appointment, of Mr. N. Allen to fill the vacancy.
