A STRANGE DEATH.
AUTO-SUGGESTION CLAIMED. OPINION OF A DOCTOp. By Telegraph.—Press Aten.—Cofrrritht. Received July 27, 5.5 p.nu London, July 126. An astonishing case of death through auto-suggestion was disclosed at a Shoreditch inquest. Alfred Manning, aged 64, was fouad kneeling on the floor at the foot of a bed and his chin rested in a looped handkerchief, the upper part of which fastened over the bedpost. A doctor gave evidence that there was no appearance of strangulation and nothing on the body to account for sudden death. He was of opinion that the man rested his chin on th® handkerchief and thought he was being hanged and died from heart failure.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
