WANGANUI BOROUGH WANS, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, July *25. The Wanganui Borough Council has loans totalling £33,000 for the gasworks maturing in October. For the purpose of renewing the loans the council placed debentures for the amount named on the Dominion market, carrying 6 per cent, interest. The money was oversubscribed within a few months. The council also raised £lO.OOO, the balance of the tramway loan, in the same market in the same period. INDIAN DELEGATE FAREWELLED. Auckland. July 25. Mr. Sastri, on leaving by the Makura for Vancouver to-day, was fare welled by a large number of Indians and others. Mr. J. Hislop (Internal Affairs Department) on behalf of the Government, farewelled the visitor, who expressed hie gratification and appreciation of the courtesy and coiLUderatiou extended to him during his tour, the sympathetic treatment received from the Press, and and the hospitality during his very pleasant stay in Auckland. Mr. Sastri boarded the vessel with his arms full of flowers. He was presented with an address from. Indian residents.
