ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MAN BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, July 24. John Anderson, a Norwegian, aged 65, a laborer residing at New Lynn, was burned to death in his hut at 6.30 on Sunday morning. A neighbor saw the hut ablaze, and, on his arrival there, found it completely destroyed. DEAD BODY FOUND. Rotorua, July 24. The body of Hugh Head, 23 years of age. single, a drover, was found hanging from a tree at Ngongataha on Sunday afternoon. He had been missing since Friday morning. A BODY IDENTIFIED. Invercargill, July 24. The human remains found in the estuary have been identified as those of William Henry Fox, single, aged 47, who has. been missing for five weeks. The deceased served in the war and was in receipt of a small pension for disability. There are no suspicious circumstances. SUICIDE BY POISONING. Dunedin, July 24. At the inquest of Denny Tobin, farmer, of Morton Mains, who was found dead in the Rose Garden, evidence showed that he was in il)-health and purchased strychnine from a chemist, stat-, ing he required it to poison rats. The verdict was that deceased died from the effects of poison, self-administered, whilst in a state of great depression. He leaves a widow and six children.
