BOXING.
TARANAKI TOURNAMENT. The committee of the Taranaki Boxing Association is busy arranging details for its tournament in the Coronation Hall at New Plymouth on August 12. The two principals in the professional contests. Pooley and Whitaker are in active training and are in splendid condition. Six special amateur bouts have been arranged. In the heavy-weights. Mills (Riverlea) will meet T. Webb (New Plymouth), and McQulre (Rahotu) will meet E. Webbqr (a New Plymouth lad of great promise). Tn the lighter weights, Childs and Collins (Stratford) should delight fans, as the lads are evenly matched. A comprehensive plan fj? improving the seating accommodation has been drawn up which will ensure added comfort a'.'d a better view. MATCHES IN AUSTRALIA.
