Notts, with 234 and 163 runs, drew with Essex, 108 and 75 for dix wickets, owing to Yorkshire, 344 arid 228, beat Kent, 259 and 147. Lancashire, 158 and 318 for six wickets (declared), drew with .Worcester, 107 and 187 for eight wickets. Rain stopped play. Tht Gentlemen scored 430 and 29 for one wicket against the Players, whose second innings produced 334 for six wickets, when they declared (Russell 162, Woolley 78, Hobbs 45). The match was drawn.
