USE OF AEROPLANES.

TO LOCATE HERRING SHOALS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, July 15. The Air Ministry is co-operating with the Scottish'Fisheries Board in a series of experiments off the coast of Scotland in locating herring shoals. Three aeroplanes are operating from a base in Fifeshire and will carry Fishing Board experts as observers. When shoals are observed information will be sent immediately to Scottish fishing ports, enabling boats to proceed direct to the spot. The French, American and Canadian Governments are carrying out similar experiments successfully, but the water off the Scottish coast is more opaque.
