THE COMMUNITY CLUB.
All interested in the newly-formed senior cadet and territorial canteen in connection with the Community Club are asked to attend a public meeting to be held in the Coronation Hall on Thursday next, 20th inst., at 3 p.m. The elub has only been going for the past fortnight, viz., Monday and Wednesday evenings, and has been much appreciated by the lads attending drill. A good hot cup of tea. coffee or cocoa for one penny, a sandwich and cake, a penny, or hot meat pie for 2d has been dispensed by the ladies. Gramaphone music, ping-pong, etc., have been provided by the men’s committee. These innovations make the nights a real pleasure to all the lads. As there is a grd&t deal yet to be done all who can are asked to attend on Thursday, with a view to making the canteen and club a success in New Plymouth.
