Boxers were present from all parts of the North Island. Taranaki has three representatives. Cann (Eltham) 8.1% beat Hewson (Auckland) 8.1 hi the first round of the featherweight after a close go. .1. Wills (New Plymouth) 10.7 beat Ryau (Wellinigton) 10.5% all the way on points in the first round of the welter. Corliss (Bitham) drew a bye in the welter. The New York State Boxing Commission has declared that Johnny Kllbane has forfeited the featherweight title because he refused to accept a challenge from Johnny Dundee. Johnny Wilson’s title also will be forfeited within a day unless he accepts Danny Brush's challenge. This decision is effective only in New York State.
