Saturday. —Anderson versus W&aher; Patterson versus Watson. Patterson has Selected Anderson and O'Hara Wood for the doubles after a steady try-out against himself and Wertheim. On practice form the selection is in every way justified. Paris, June 11. Owing to the expense, the French Tennis Association has asked that, in the event of France meeting Australia, the Davis Cup match be played in England, not in America. If Australia refuses France will possibly withdraw

from the competition. Received June 22, 5.5 p.m. London, June 21.

Interviewed with reference to France’s request that in the event of the Australians beating the Belgians in the Davis Cup round, that France should meet the Australians in England, Patterson said the players, if they succeeded in the present round, would prefer to meet France in America, according to the arrangements already made, but it was a matter for the association in Australia to decide.
