PILFERING OF CARGO.
SPECIAL WHARF POLICE / By Telegraph.—Press Aasn.—Copyright. Sydney, June 21. The conference which discussed cargo pilfering recommended the adoption in Sydney of a system similar to that in vogue in Melbourne, which provides a special police patrol on the wharves. The suggestion is made that the Government should appoint fifty special wharf police under the direct control of the Police Department and generally tighten the protective measures. Uniformity of action in the various Commonwealth ports is urged. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
