LIEUT. BENNETT’S FUNERAL.
IMPRESSIVE SCENES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 18, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, June 18. TLousaudi filed past the coffin of Lieutenant Bennett, where it lay in State, in the Federal Parliament House, during Saturday forenoon. The great silent crowds paid their tribute to the dead airman. In the afternoon, after an impressive service, conducted by Bishop Greene, the l>ody was borne through .the packed streets to St Kilda Cemetery for burial. A big concourse had assembled at the cemetery. The grave was smothered with wreaths. Three aeroplanes circled the city while the funeral was proceed-ing.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
