Dr. Rathenau is buying up big industrial concerns in Austria, including thd Moellersborg munition works, which the Austrian Government has been running for the production of peace goods trineo the war, not daring to discharge the workmen as it feared internal troubles. An attempt to socialise the works increased the deficit by several milliards of kronen. Dr. Rathenau’s purchase will relievq the Austrian budget of 15 milliards.
