Mr. Harry Baldwin, a new Hawaiian delegate to Congress, testifying before the Senate Committee of Labour, said American control of Hawaii is menaced as a result of the ever-increasing and overwhelming Japanese population, which already constitutes 43 per cent, of the entire populace. Mr. Baldwin urged the passing of tbe joint resolution introduced by Senator Dillingham giving the President power to suspend the Chinese immigration re* striction to Hawaii for five years in order to secure a balance.—AusJT.Z.
