WANGANUI MURDER.
NO FRESH DEVELOPMENTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. As yet there are no further developments in connection with the murder of the elderly Chinaman, Chow Yet,, at Long Acre, on Wednesday night. The police made a very exhaustive search of the locality to-day without definite result. The known facts are as stated previously. It is positive that the murderer carried his victim from where he fatally shot him to the snot where his body was found. There the dead man’s pockets were rifled, dose by were the empty purse and some folded pieces of paper. The next development in connection with the murder of the Chinaman, is being awaited with interest, as it seems that so far the police have only a slender clue to work upon (says the Chronicle). One statement made was that m the afternoon prior to the crime two strange men were seen in the locality, although it is quite possible that this mav have no bearing ou the subject.
