CHILD ENDOWMENT.

NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME. By Telegraph.—Press Asm.—Copyright. Received June 2, 7.20 p.m. Sydney, June 2. The Government’s family pensions proposals do not aim at the endowment of children, as proposed by the late Government under the motherhood endowment scheme. The principle guiding the present Government in regard to child endowment is that the obligation to support children primarily belongs to the parents. There are, however, many cases of parents, who, owing to their large -families and comparatively small earnings, arc unable to properly support their offspring. The Bill is designed to meet these cases.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
