RISING CRUSHED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Capetown, May 31. The -operations against the rebel Bondelzars culminated in a successful assault on their stronghold at Haib by the troops and volunteer settlers assisted by aeroplanes, and the position was captured. The enemy suffered severely from the aeroplane bombs, which caused much havoc, especially among the enemy’s stock. The principal rebel leader, Morris, and a considerable number of followers escaped under cover of the darkness. A hundred prisoners were captured. The official report states that the rising has been completely crushed with a loss to our forces of two killed and two wounded. A considerablbe numer of the enemy was killed, including two leaders. It is believed that the fugitives are making for Orange River. Troops have been despatched thither.
