PRISONER ESCAPES.

JUMPS FROM TRAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Mervyn John Cadby, a prisoner, while being escorted to custody with six other prisoners from Wellington to the Borstal Institute, Invercargill, jumped from the window of the express train this evening as the train was moving out from Waihola. The escapee is nineteen years of age, five feet in height, thick set, fair complexion, with full face, and clean shaven. He was sentenced to a term of reformative treatment for breaking, entering, and theft at the premises of W. H. Tisdall, Ltd., Wellington.
