WELLINGTON LABOR CANDIDATES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, May 16. The nominations of Labor candidates to contest the Wellington seats will not close until the end of June, when the Labor Representation Committee will hold a selection ballot. Up to the present the following have been nominated as candidates for the seats mentioned: Wellington East. —Mr. A. L. Monteith, secretary of the Tramwaymen’s Union. Wellington South. —Mr. H. Dyson, secretary of the Storemen’s Union; Mr. R. McKeen, secretary of the Grocers’ Union; Mr. J. McKenzie, assistant secretary of the Hotel and Restaurant Workers’ Union. Wellington Suburbs.—Mr. A. W. Croskery, secretary of the Amalgamated Shop Assistants’ Society. Wellington North.—Mr. C. H. Chapman, secretary of the Typographical Union; Mrs. Snow. Wellington Central.—Mr. P. Fraser, M.P. It is understood that Mr. H. E. Combs, secretary of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association, will be nominated in the Labor interest for Wellington North, and that Mr. M. J. Mack, secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, and president of the Alliance of Labor, may be nominated for Wellington East. Mr. C. H. Pritchard will again contest the Hutt seat for Labor.
