THE RAND REVOLT.
REVELATIONS AT ENQUIRY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 15, 12.30 a.m. Capetown, May 13. In the course of evidence before the Martial Law Commission, Colonel Beer, Deputy-Commissioner of Police in the Free State, stated that during the progress of the strike secret meetings were held all over the Free State, and were addressed by speakers from the Rand. .The situation became very serious, as commandoes were projected at several places and were only waiting the word to rise. A woman organised a commando at Bloemfontein, but the magistrates, together with Mr. Hertzog, quashed the movement. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
