OPPONENT REFUSED PASSPORT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-Copyright. Received May 2, 5.5 p.m. London, May 1. In the House of Cortimons, Mr. J. Pauber informed General Townshend that the latter had been refused a passport to Turkey because the Government thought General Townshend’s presence in Turkey would be misinterpreted »y France. Greece and Turkey, and would be prejudicial to the peace negotiations. Several members protested against refusing a member of the House of Commons a passport because he happened to disapprove of the Government’s policy. General Townshend expressed his determination to question Mr. Chamberjfrin later.—Aus.-N.Z, cablegram.
