One is alleged to be from the wife of the real murderer, who alleges she knows that her husband committed the. crime and will bring him up to scratch in a few days. One old man, aged 75, visited the gaol and offered himself as a sacrifice for Ross. He quoted the Bible, saying it 'would be a beautiful death to die for another.
