A WORKERS’ AGREEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The agreement existing between the New Zealand Workers’ Union and the Minister of Public Works covering wages and conditions of construction workers in the employ of the Public Works Department is expiring, and the head office of the New Zealand Workers’ Union has written to the Minister proposing a conference for drawing up a new agreement. DRAUGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP. l Dunedin, Last Night. In the Australasian draughts championship Boreham defeated Rea in the opening round, and Lucas beat Brown. In the next round Lucas beat Boreham in two games and drew one. Brown and Rea proved very evenly matched, and have won one game each and six games have been drawn. Lucas is the only "two-lifer” left in the contest.
